Design Update for Political Science
The Department of Political Science has a new website design.
The Department Web Framework is a free service provided by the UW College of Arts & Sciences Marketing & Communications team. We design, build, and host websites for the College's departments, so they can focus on their content and communication strategies.
There are currently 33 departments using the framework service. It is available to academic departments in all four divisions: Arts, Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences. If your department is interested in joining, contact Shane Fricks. What if I'm not eligible?
We've got lots of tutorials and background information in our documentation and help section.
For notices of system downtime, upgrades, new features, and workshops, join the asweb-users mailing list.
Not all units are eligible for the framework. Learn more about Arts & Sciences web services at the College's Marketing site.
The Department of Political Science has a new website design.
The Department of Chemistry has joined the College's Department Web Framework. We migrated their site from a static Adobe Contribute site on the UW's shared web publishing service. The front page design showcases their research activities and collaborations. They are the 32nd department and 4th natural science unit to join the framework.
Please save the date for the spring quarter Department Web Framework users meeting. Meeting topics will be upgrading the Framework to Drupal 8 and a group discussion about web challenges and creating content related to coronavirus, graduation, and remote operations.

The College of Arts & Sciences web team has added a new field to show personal pronouns on faculty, staff, and student profiles. This is an optional field on Department Web Framework sites. If filled out, the pronouns will display in small text following the person's name on their full profile page.

The Department of Dance is the latest department to undergo a visual redesign with our team. Since movement is uniquely important for dance, we implemented a video feature for their slider. Check it out at https://dance.washington.edu
