Our team continues to refresh the visual design of existing sites. The latest department to receive a makeover is the Department of Asian Languages & Literature. See their new look at https://asian.washington.edu.
Our spring Department Web Framework users meeting will be Tuesday, May 15, from 1-2pm in the Simpson Center (CMU 202). This meeting will focus on writing for web audiences.
I am very pleased to welcome Sasha Im, Web Content Strategist for University Marketing and Communications. She will talk about the benefits of using plain language and share some techniques for improving your content.
Please save the date for our next Department Web Framework users meeting:

We’ll be covering two different topics:
Back in March 2012, the Department of French & Italian Studies graciously served as the pilot for a new service to design and support websites out of the dean's office and the marketing communications team. That service evolved into the Department Web Framework. Five years later, we've revisited the site and given them a complete visual redesign. Check it out at https://frenchitalian.washington.edu
Our next Department Web Framework users meeting will be Tuesday, November 7, 2017, from 1:00-2:00pm in CMU 202 (Simpson Center seminar room). The topic will be calendars and events – what web calendar systems are available? what kind of events belong on your department calendar? how can you share events with other departments? how can you manage event registration? what approaches have worked or not worked for you and your department?
Our team is excited to announce two enhancements for department sites:
