We periodically refresh our site designs to reflect trends in digital design, university branding, and front-end web development. The latest theme template for Department Web Framework sites has several accent color scheme options. The front page layout and banner image are customized for each department. All our themes are accessible, responsive, and follow UW branding guidelines.
Developers for units in the College who would like access to the theme code should contact us at asweb@uw.edu. Our themes can be used as a base for your custom theme, or you can borrow code snippets from them.
UW Florin
UW Florin is our newest theme design. It is very clean and emphasizes usability and readability. The header places more emphasis on the department name, while still portraying the university and college brands. There are six accent colors to choose from that complement UW purple.
UW Northanger
UW Northanger features a navigation bar and sidebars that float over the background. The front page images and content area sometimes have space between each other and the navigation bar. This theme is deprecated and not offered for newer sites.
UW Arcadia
UW Arcadia is a custom theme built for the School of Art + Art History + Design.
UW Narbonne
UW Narbonne is a custom theme built for the School of Music.
